Six of Canada's top writers give a benefit reading for CJPME. The writers include: two-time Governor General 's Award winner Nino Ricci, Wayson Choy, Terry Fallis, Lee Maracle, Giller winner Joseph Boyden and Kyo Maclear. These six writers, along with Yann Martel, Michael Ondaatje, and Margaret Atwood, are among the over 100 Canadian authors who co-signed the Canadian Writers' Open Letter to Israeli and Canadian leaders this summer.

If you love either literature or justice, you’ll be gratified, and if you love both, this is an evening not to be missed!

The following writers will give brief readings of their published poetry or novels, or works in progress not yet published. Some may also be reading the poetry of Middle East writers:
